Foundation, Nicole Shirk

I touched the local church in August of 2000. The majority of my church life has been in Kalamazoo, Michigan where I went to college. I studied criminal justice. When I graduated from college in June of 2001 I went home to my parents' house in Ann Arbor, Michigan and started working at a youth treatment facility called Boysville of Michigan. Boysville is a “faith-based” facility that treats young people who have come into contact with the criminal justice system.

While I was working at Boysville the Lord worked in many ways to make me see that I needed a stronger foundation in Him before I could do this job the way it needed to be done. I needed to learn how to rely on Him for everything. In January 2002 I decided that the Lord was telling me to go to Anaheim to be trained. I needed training so that I could be useful to Him.
